Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of domestic tourism. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide reasons such as cost-saving and convenience, the supporting examples are brief and lack depth. For instance, the example regarding Canada is relevant but could be expanded to explain why domestic travel is more sustainable or accessible in the long term. The conclusion attempts to summarize the main points but introduces a counter-argument that was not fully integrated into the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a more detailed explanation or a more comprehensive real-world example.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing. For example, the transition between the benefits of domestic travel and the counter-argument about international travel is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas transition smoothly from one to the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'vocation' instead of 'vacation', 'sattement' for 'statement', 'mine' for 'money', and 'ardous' for 'arduous'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'domestic flights' and 'international', the range is limited. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations related to travel and tourism.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'I am strongly agree' instead of 'I strongly agree' and 'people not travel to abroad'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'a person who live in canada') are frequent areas of concern. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over complex sentence forms and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors.
