Student answer (Band 6.5)

In upcoming time, most of the citizens will choose their home country for vacation rather than travelling abroad. I strongly disagree with the statement due to the personal choices , exploring other places , passion of travelling and government support to increase tourism.

One of the major reasons why people will not stop travelling abroad is their passion of travelling and exploring other places than their home country. This is because people are born, brought up and have already explored their home country. Additionally, exploring the country does not only mean to visit some places, but also to know about the culture that includes their fashion, traditional food and many more. For instance, Japan has tidy roads whereas Switzerland is known for the greenery and China is recognized for the infrastructure and business development. These all factors contribute to the differences in societies and people are keen to visit and learn several things about the lifestyle of people from another regions.

Moreover, governments have encouraged the tourism in their country to attract foreign tourists. This is owing to when non- residents come to explore any nation, they bring business for locals. In detail, people spend money on the food, travel, museums, and various historic places. Ultimately, leading to enhance money circulation in an economy. To cite an example, in late 1990's Dubai used to be a desert, later on due to the support of government it has become a travel hub. Numerous people from all around the world love to visit Dubai and invest in real estate. So, tourism has been promoted a lot that it is not going to reduce.

In conclusion, citizens have been familiar with their home country and now their interest of travelling has been shifted to travel abroad, where they can learn about different cultures, habits, and attitude of people towards life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed. You provide specific examples, such as the comparison of Japan, Switzerland, and China, and the development of Dubai, which helps to support your arguments. However, some points could be extended further; for instance, the link between government support and the continued growth of international tourism is clear, but the argument could benefit from a more direct rebuttal of why domestic tourism might not replace international travel. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In detail', and 'Ultimately' to guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. While the flow is generally good, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'These all factors', which should be 'All these factors'. Despite these small issues, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your ideas with precision. You use topic-specific terms like 'infrastructure', 'business development', and 'money circulation' effectively. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'In upcoming time' (should be 'In the near future') and 'encouraged the tourism' (should be 'encouraged tourism'). You attempt to use less common vocabulary, which is a strength, though occasional errors in phrasing persist. The vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication of your arguments.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are frequent minor errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'passion of travelling' (should be 'passion for travelling'), 'non- residents' (spacing error), and 'interest of travelling has been shifted' (should be 'interest in travelling has shifted'). Additionally, there are some issues with article usage and pluralization. However, these errors rarely impede communication and do not prevent the reader from understanding your points. Increasing your control over complex structures will help improve this score.
