In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
A large proportion of individuals will chose to go on vacation in their own nation instead of travelling overseas in the future. I completely disagree with this trend as travelling abroad enhances the cultural knowledge, communicative skills and explore tourist attractions located at distant places.
Cultural diversity plays a vital role in developing ones knowledge. One travelling to different tourist attractions gets an opportunity to learn various religious beliefs, faiths, dressing patterns, tasting and learning various national cuisines. On the top of that interacting with several nationalities develops the communicative skills and educate about differentiate languages. For instance, tourists going to Paris and Europe improves their command over French and English language. Additionally, one visiting Dubai learns about their famous sweet dish named ' Baklava'.
Some of the countries do not have fascinating attractions for kids, adventurous game stadiums and appealing hiking locations. So the residents living there might have different interests and want to travel abroad to explore the places of their interest. As seven wonders of the world are located in different countries. For example, children are fascinated by Disney Land these days and it is located in Paris and United States of America. Moreover, the one who loves to explore nature would like to travel Alberta, Canada to see beautiful lakes and mountains. It would provide them the best experience of hiking and camping.
In conclusion, though one's own country have several tourist attractions but travelling abroad aids to learns different cultures, languages and explore the places of their interests located far away.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of cultural exchange and the limitations of local attractions. However, the development is somewhat uneven. For example, the mention of 'Paris and Europe' as a country is a factual error that weakens the argument. While the main points are supported with examples, some are slightly superficial, such as the specific mention of 'Baklava' in Dubai, which does not strongly support the broader argument about cultural diversity. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples are more accurate and that the reasoning is more deeply explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is mostly clear, though the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different arguments, which helps the reader navigate the text. Overall, the structure is coherent, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'cultural diversity' and 'fascinating attractions'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'tasting and learning various national cuisines' and 'educate about differentiate languages'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a lack of precision. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'will chose' (should be 'choose'), 'ones knowledge' (missing apostrophe), 'the one who loves' (awkward phrasing), and 'though one's own country have' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical structures and refining complex sentences would significantly improve the score.
