Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the future, the majority of individuals will prefer to visit their own nation instead of going other countries on their vacations because it helps us to save some money and learn more about our culture or traditions. However, I personally agree with this statement and I will discuss my viewpoint in detail in the upcoming paragraphs with relevant examples.

To commence with, the first and foremost benefit behind this is it saves a lot of time and money. To elaborate this, if we visit our country it helps us to spend less money that we used on flight tricks. Moreover, time is very precious so rather than wasting time on travelling foreign countries, it is a good option to use it by enjoying visiting your own country famous places that also help individuals such as hotel owners, and small businesses to earn some money from tourism. For example, there are so many street markets that run only because of visitors so if people visit their own country it helps them to expand their business and spend a happy life.

Another significant advantage is nowadays, most of the young generation is not similar with their own country culture and traditions. To explain it, travelling in their own states is a great idea to teach them about our religion that also helps them to know about the sacrifices that our ancestors did only for us. That is the reason now we spend an excellent lifestyle.

In conclusion, visiting our own nation is a great idea because it help us to connect with our culture and tradition although, it provides us an opportunity to save some money and time

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas regarding economic benefits and cultural awareness are relevant, though the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument about 'flight tricks' (tickets) and 'small businesses' is a good start but could be expanded with more specific examples of how domestic tourism impacts local economies. The conclusion is brief and slightly repetitive of the introduction. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more nuanced reasoning rather than just stating the benefits.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow is slightly hindered by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the second and third paragraphs. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure helps the reader follow the argument without difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'flight tricks' instead of 'flight tickets' and 'not similar with' instead of 'not familiar with'. While the meaning is generally clear, the use of vocabulary is somewhat basic and repetitive. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism and cultural heritage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'it help us' (subject-verb agreement), 'sacrifices that our ancestors did' (collocation), and 'although, it provides us' (incorrect use of a subordinating conjunction). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammar and refining the use of complex structures will significantly improve the quality of the writing.
