Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the future, most people would choose to go on Vacation in their own country instead of travel abroad on holiday. I firmly agree with this statement.

To begin with, travelling in your own country is very cheap and accessible. First and foremost, people are more familiar with all the cultures and can easily mix up and build new connections. Furthermore, they have an abundance of choices to choose from in food options. To explain, from my experience I traveled to Thailand and there I visited the Restaurant they have all the options of Thai foods. Because of this it became very difficult to stay there because there was no option for other cuisines.

Moreover, another point is to communicate with people in our country as compared to other countries. However, sometimes when individuals travel abroad they face difficulties to connect with people because of language barriers. For example travelling to Italy Where Italian is their native language its very demanding and to communicate as well as express their feelings in front of other people.

To conclude, I believe that people still have love towards their own country rather than foreign countries. Therefore, in the future individuals will choose their own country to travel on holiday.

According to my point of view that travel abroad is also quiet expensive so we have to travel our country because it will saves our time and money as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main points regarding cost and language barriers are relevant, they are under-developed. The example provided about Thailand is confusing and does not effectively support the argument that domestic travel is superior. The conclusion introduces new points about saving time and money, which should have been integrated into the body paragraphs for better structure. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and ensure the essay meets the minimum length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is sometimes weak. While cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' are used, they are occasionally used mechanically or inappropriately. For example, the transition 'However' in the second body paragraph does not effectively contrast the previous point. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is quite short and feels like an afterthought. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'cheap', 'difficult', and 'good'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'mix up' (which usually means to confuse) instead of 'mingle' or 'socialize', and 'demanding' used in a context where 'challenging' would be more appropriate. The range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise vocabulary and collocations, and avoid repeating simple words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'travel abroad is also quiet expensive'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'quiet' instead of 'quite'), and punctuation errors. Some sentences are awkward, such as 'its very demanding and to communicate as well as express their feelings'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of reading. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy is key to achieving a higher score.
