Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no doubt that the the perspectives of people have changed significantly in recent years. It is estimated that most youngsters would prefer to visit on holidays in your home country rather than going to abroad. I completely disagree with this notion by explaining that people will be more curious to know about the outer world.

The first reason is curiosity as this is obvious that people especially young ones are always passionate to come across about the world. Thus, it would be impossible for them to enjoy holidays only in their own country. For example, the recent travel statistics in eastern regions show that half of the generation usually travel from one continent to another which means they love exploring new foreign places which give a opportunity to meet new people with different cultures.

Another reason can be alleviate stress which has become a common issue among the people. To elaborate on this, it is often seen that youngsters are under massive pressure from academic or professional demands. However, after visiting foreign places, they feel rejuvenated and more productive, which ultimately gives them a sense of fulfillment and independence. Therefore, this tendency would be prevalent in upcoming years.

To conclude, although it will also depend on the financial situation, the excitement of travelling abroad cannot be overlooked because almost all people have a lucrative resources with extra benefits. So, they would surely choose to visit on holidays in other nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that domestic tourism will replace international travel. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding curiosity and stress relief are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. The conclusion introduces a new point about financial situations that was not previously discussed, which disrupts the logical flow. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples and ensure that all points are fully explored within the word count constraints.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'The first reason', 'Thus', 'To elaborate on this', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. For instance, the jump from discussing stress to the conclusion is abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of the argument would benefit from more sophisticated linking words and better integration of supporting evidence to ensure a more natural flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'rejuvenated', 'fulfillment', and 'prevalent'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'visit on holidays' (should be 'go on holiday'), 'come across about the world', and 'lucrative resources'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on slightly unnatural phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the the perspectives', 'going to abroad', and 'give a opportunity'. Additionally, there are issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to ensure your writing is more polished and accurate.
