Student answer (Band 6.0)

Now a days, it has become a debatable topic that in future many people will prefer to visit and spend their holidays in their home country rather than going out of their nation. I strongly agree that people should roam into their home country first and then prefer to travel abroad.

An Individual should priorities their own country because they should get familiar with the diversity in culture, cuisines and the more scenic beauty of the different landscapes. Many people migrate from their native place to an another country. In that case they miss their connections with home, friend and relatives. For instance, I am staying in France since last four years without visiting anytime back home. So I am missing my parents, siblings and friends, and hence decided to go back to my home despite I have a chance to visit other European countries at the same time. Moreover if you know your own cultural background well, then you can explain it easily to other ethnic people.

In the other hand, there are also the benefits to visiting abroad, as it gives more global exposure instead of staying at home. In many cases, one who enjoy traveling prefer going out, but with the condition of their budget, because not all can afford to go out. Everything comes at its own cost. These people instead compromise for not choosing to be with their closed one.

In conclusion, staying at our own native have a greater advantage than going out as the family should be an utmost priority. But we should not deny the exposure we get by going abroad, because ultimately, more experience gives a wider lance to see life differently.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of domestic tourism. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide a personal example regarding your experience in France, the argument focuses heavily on the emotional aspect of missing family rather than the broader trend of domestic tourism. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic or environmental benefits of domestic travel, which would provide a more balanced and comprehensive response to the prompt. The conclusion acknowledges the counter-argument, which is good, but the main argument could be more robustly supported with additional points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'In the other hand' (should be 'On the other hand'). Additionally, the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of your argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the personal anecdote and the general topic of domestic tourism could be more explicitly stated to improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'diversity', 'ethnic', and 'global exposure'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing or word choice, such as 'roam into their home country' (should be 'travel within') and 'wider lance to see life' (likely meant 'lens'). There are also minor errors in collocation, such as 'staying at our own native' (should be 'staying in our own country'). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding literal translations of phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include 'Now a days' (should be 'Nowadays'), 'An Individual should priorities' (should be 'prioritize'), 'staying in France since last four years' (should be 'for the last four years'), and 'despite I have a chance' (should be 'despite having a chance'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Increasing your control over verb tenses and prepositions will help improve your score.
