Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the coming days, many individuals will prefer to go on vocations in their own nation rather then travelling to any foreign country. I personally agree with this statement. This essay will explain this notion in forthcoming paragraphs.

To commence with the predominant one, is the visa issues. To explicate this, many individuals will prefer to go to their own countries for their holidays because of visa problems. They may not be able to travel to another country without visas. For instance, USA government had noticed that they got very less visitors to their country last year because of their visas been rejected. Hence, this has reduced their chances to explore other countries.

Shifting towards other point, it is inflation. To explain this, everything is getting extremely expensive nowadays. Moreover, visiting to another country for their vocations can be so much expensive for people. There can be several finance issues, their staying, food, guidance these all things could be so costly in other nations as compared to individuals own country. For example, many international markets in Japan had noticed that individuals were denying to take their products because they were costing more for them. This was the main reason why people had reduced to visit other nation.

To conclude this, I personally agree with this statement that individuals will choose more to their own country for their vocation rather than any other nation because of the visiting problem and the inflation and how the things are getting expensive in today's world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention visa issues and inflation, the supporting examples—such as the reference to the USA government and Japanese markets—are not entirely logical or clearly connected to the main argument. The essay would benefit from more specific, realistic examples that directly support the claim that domestic tourism will increase. The ideas are relevant, but they lack the depth required for a higher band score, as the reasoning remains somewhat superficial and repetitive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Shifting towards other point', though these are somewhat mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transition between the topic sentence and the supporting example in the second paragraph is weak. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your arguments more fluidly rather than relying on repetitive structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision needed for a higher score. You use some basic errors in word choice, such as 'vocations' instead of 'vacations' or 'holidays', and 'very less' instead of 'far fewer'. There is also some repetition of words like 'individuals' and 'country'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of collocation errors (e.g., 'denying to take their products') limit the score. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary would significantly improve your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'rather then' instead of 'rather than', 'USA government had noticed' (incorrect tense), and 'visas been rejected'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on consistent verb tenses and correct preposition usage would be a good next step for improvement.
