Student answer (Band 6.0)

Globalization has change the previous trends, I totally disagree with the statement that most of the persons will prefer to spend there holidays in their own country.

To articulate, although it is common belief that people usually goes to their nearest tourist attractions to spend their holidays but, nowadays it has become a race to go abroad to explore new countries. Generally we do not value the things we have its a simple nature that if we have this that means it is easily achievable the same scenario goes with our surroundings we usually see them and by the time our excitement for them goes down day by day.

In todays world, travelling has become a social status, the more countries you visit the more richer you are and social media plays a major role in this thing. let me shred some light on this, we are connected with our friends through social media most of our friends are whom we studied or whom we are working with and our relatives all these people are from our neighbouring communities they would have seen most of the local and their in country places they would have posted their pictures on social media platforms that might be similar to the other people. So to shine above and get more likes people wants to try new things so they start exploring places outside their country to get some good and different pictures from there friend circle this rat race of likes on social media is fueling this trend.

Moreover, in older times people goes for vacations to get some peace and go out from their work to home loop but in todays era most of the people like thrilling and adventure they are not looking for internal peace they are looking to rush their adrenaline so some countries geographical locations are not letting them open their wings. For example a person wants to go to beach but his/her country is land locked so they have to move to another country to feel the beach experience.

To conclude i strongly disagrees with the statement that in future more people will choose their native country for vacations not abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have clearly stated your position against the prompt and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas regarding social media influence and the desire for thrill-seeking are relevant and well-developed. However, the essay tends to over-generalize, such as the claim that 'the more countries you visit the more richer you are,' which lacks nuance. While the arguments are logical, they could be further strengthened by providing more concrete examples beyond the hypothetical land-locked country scenario. The response addresses all parts of the task, but the development of ideas is slightly repetitive in the third paragraph regarding social media.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'this thing' or 'this trend.' The connection between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother; for instance, the transition from the concept of 'social status' to the 'rat race of likes' is a bit abrupt. Overall, the progression is clear, but the management of cohesive devices lacks the flexibility required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'globalization,' 'tourist attractions,' and 'adrenaline.' However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'shred some light' (should be 'shed some light'), 'more richer' (grammatically redundant), and 'work to home loop.' These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and idiomatic expressions rather than attempting to use complex phrases that may not fit the context perfectly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'people usually goes' and 'people wants.' There are also punctuation errors, particularly with run-on sentences and comma splices, such as in the second paragraph: '...spend their holidays but, nowadays it has become...'. While your meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and basic sentence punctuation.
