Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is considered that the majority of individuals would prefer to select locations for the holidays in their domestic nation instead of going to overseas in the future. However, I disagree with this view and believe that the trend of going abroad on vacations would increase significantly in the future.

One main reason why the international travel can get popularity in the upcoming days because of the improvement in travelling agencies. Aviation industry is improving with each passing day, due to which, the number of flights is increasing. In this way, the price of tickets is declining, so people can easily afford tickets even they are from different backgrounds. This trend can stimulate more people to travel to different nations.

Another reason of travelling abroad is that the advancement in technology. It has become quite common for people to use the internet and they can search about distinct renowned places from different parts of the world. Due to this, they can get excitement to visit such places. In this way, they not only gain new experience but also learn about different culture and tradition.

Education is also responsible to expand the trend to travel overseas. Young people prefer to visit international countries for their higher education. Sometimes, learners wants to take such courses that are not available in their home country, in such situations they have to go abroad for studies.

In conclusion, I still believe that travel to overseas would increase in the future, because of the improvement in travelling companies, technology and good education system.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that domestic tourism will replace international travel. The ideas are relevant, focusing on aviation costs, technology, and education. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about education is a bit tangential, as it focuses on students moving abroad rather than holidaymakers. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper explanations for each point. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall development of ideas remains somewhat superficial.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'One main reason', 'Another reason', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the connection between the aviation industry and ticket prices is clear, but the link between education and holiday trends could be more explicitly stated to improve the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'domestic nation', 'stimulate', and 'renowned places'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'international travel can get popularity' (should be 'gain popularity') and 'domestic nation' (usually 'domestic country' or 'home country'). You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but these occasional errors prevent a higher score. Focusing on more natural collocations will help improve your lexical precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'the advancement in technology' (missing a verb, e.g., 'is the advancement'), 'learners wants' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'travel to overseas' (should be 'travel overseas' or 'travel abroad'). These errors are frequent but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
