IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the upcoming era, most `people will prefer to spend their vacation in their native countries as compared to going to foreign countries. I completely agree with this statement because people want to connect with their roots and tickets will be expensive in the future.
The main reason is that people want to stay connected with their roots. By doing this, they will know their culture and traditions. Which is mostly forgetten by the young generation. Secondly, the ticket price will increase. Due to this, people will not spend their holidays abroad. For example, nowadays, if you plan to visit another country with your whole family, then you have to invest a lot of money just buying tickets. So, this will increase in the future.
In addition, the hectic schedule is also the reason for this trend. Now, both parents are working, and they do not have enough time to go outside and spend some time. For this reason, they will choose to spend vacation in their native countries. Moreover, in the modern century, technology will enhance the development of the countries. So, people will see all the things just in their own countries. To illustrate, AI technology will help people to feel same as they will feel when they go to other countries, which is just like a dream for other peoples.
In Conclusion, I totally agree with this trend beacuse it will helps people to know more about their culture; travelling abroad will be expensive for people and hectic schedule is also the reason for this trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position and providing reasons for the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding AI technology is speculative and lacks a clear logical link to why this would replace the desire for physical travel. While the main points (cost, cultural connection, and time constraints) are relevant, they are presented in a somewhat superficial manner. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples or deeper analysis for each point rather than listing several reasons briefly. The conclusion effectively summarizes your position, but the overall development remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'The main reason is', 'Secondly', 'In addition', and 'In Conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the sentence fragment 'Which is mostly forgetten by the young generation.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the coherence of your writing. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'native countries', 'hectic schedule', and 'traditions'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'invest a lot of money just buying tickets' (spend) and 'feel same as they will feel' (feel the same). There is also a minor spelling error ('forgetten'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations. The current range is sufficient to communicate your ideas clearly, but it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'it will helps people' (it will help), 'hectic schedule is also the reason' (a hectic schedule), and 'other peoples' (other people). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after commas and periods. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
