Student answer (Band 5.5)
Holiday is an event which everyone waits for every year .All people have plans different according to their convenience and priorities. Some plans to go to other countries while some chose to stay in their home country and explore famous and beautiful places there.
According to my observation or opinion now the travelling concepts are changing. Now a days people prefer to stay in their own countries rather than travelling for the purpose of recreation. As for as the reasons for this change are concerned the main reason is the inflation. The travel costs are higher now a days as compared to past when feul prices were under control. The second reason is that in the past few years travel has decreased due to Covid-19.Although the world is safe and now there are no risk associated with travel. But the consequences of Coviid-19 are still there as people have changed their routines and priorities. Now people have shifted from travel abroad to nearby choices for holidays.
This is just my observation and opinion there still be many people travelling abroad for their vacations. I have this opinion because I have seen this trend in my family. There are some families in my relatives who used to spend their vacations in Europe before the covid-19.But now in past few years they are staying in home country and go to other beautiful provinces with their kids. So after covid-19 although situation return to normal but they couldn't get back to their previous routine for holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion that domestic tourism is becoming more popular. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention inflation and the lingering effects of Covid-19 as reasons, these points could be expanded with more depth or specific examples beyond personal anecdotes. The essay maintains a consistent position, but the overall argument lacks the complexity required for a higher band. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the reasons provided, rather than relying on brief observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'The second reason is that...', 'This is just my observation...'). Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the logical flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of the argument is somewhat simplistic, which affects the coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. You rely on common, everyday language (e.g., 'beautiful places', 'good', 'normal'). There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'travelling concepts' and 'staying in home country' (which should be 'staying in their home country'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism, economics, and social trends, and focus on using more precise collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the travelling concepts'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (e.g., 'Covid-19.Although the world is safe...'). Some sentences are fragmented or awkwardly phrased, which occasionally hinders the flow of reading. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundary control and consistent use of articles would significantly improve your accuracy.
