Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often debated, that in future people will prefer to spend holidays in their home country, instead going abroad. Some perople agree while the others disagree. I strongly agree with it and this essay will highlight the facts in further detail.

Now a days, as the geopolitical situations including war has changed travelling alot. Visa issuance is a problem quite common. along with surged oil prices have made air travelling quite expensive. for instance, Iran and Usa war completely halted the flight operations for nearly 40 days.

Another issue is, that tourist immigration rules have been strict in recent years, due to increased tourism, making vaccation destinations crowded instead relaxing. Holidays are to relax and enjoy, far away from the office hustle and bustle. For example Bali is completely diffrent on social media and in reality.

I strongly beleive that, above discussed facts along with many rising will lead people to discover places in their own home country, not only ecnomical friendly rather a chance to learn classic native culture as well

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response presents a clear position agreeing with the prompt, but it suffers from a significant length penalty. The official minimum is 250 words, yet this essay contains only 173 words. Because it falls well short of this requirement, the ideas are under-developed and fail to meet the full task expectations. While the writer attempts to present reasons such as geopolitical tensions, visa issues, and crowded destinations, these arguments are truncated and lack sufficient extension and supporting examples. For instance, mentioning the Iran and USA war is a relevant point, but it is not expanded into a fully developed argument. Consequently, Task Achievement is constrained to a lower band due to the severe under-length issue, despite addressing the core topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into four brief paragraphs, providing a basic framework with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is hindered by frequent structural and mechanical issues. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, such as the dangling phrase 'along with surged oil prices' and the fragmented sentence structure in the second paragraph ('for instance, Iran and Usa war completely halted...'). Paragraphing is attempted, but the paragraphs are overly brief and lack internal cohesion. Referencing and linking between ideas feel mechanical rather than fluid. Overall, the arrangement shows some sense of organization, but the lack of cohesive control and underdeveloped transitions place this performance solidly within the lower-intermediate band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, but it is limited and contains several noticeable errors in word choice and spelling. Examples of weak or inaccurate phrasing include 'perople', 'now a days', 'vaccation', 'diffrent', and 'ecnomical friendly'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'geopolitical situations', 'flight operations', and 'hustle and bustle', but these are undermined by frequent lexical and spelling inaccuracies that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic argument about domestic tourism versus international travel, but it lacks the precision and control required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures with frequent errors. Simple sentences are common, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty. For example, the opening sentence 'It is often debated, that in future people will prefer...' contains unnecessary comma usage and a missing article. Other grammatical errors include missing subjects or fragmented phrases, such as 'along with surged oil prices have made air travelling quite expensive', where the subject clause lacks a proper main verb connection. Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect capitalization ('Usa') and missing periods or comma splices. These frequent errors disrupt the flow and occasionally strain the reader, fitting the band 5 descriptor.
