Student answer (Band 6.0)

Holiday plays vital role in individuals life.In contemporary, people are engaged with more of work and family responsibilities. It is required to get time off and make a plan to travel especially if they are living, studying or working far from family. Now a days, travelling has influenced by social media platform. However, people have changed their mindset and willingly want to spend holiday time in thier own home country rather than travelling abroad.

I would totally agree onto the point where people are travelling to their town. They are experiencing development in the home town, while browsing different newly opened restaurants, shopping centers etc. They get a chance to visit other family members too. Also parents get chance to inherit the old tradition culture to their kids if they are accompanying them.

Travelling abroad is also beneficial and you get chance to explore different culture, language, food, locality etc. Sometimes it can be way more costly to travel especially during holiday period. Toursists are overcrowded here and there so you would not get chance to explore that much. Also some countries are much reliable during specific season such as you can not travel Alberta in canada during winter season as it is full of snow and weather is freezing too. so in such cases it is far way better to travel in your home country or in the countries where you can explore comfortably.

It is always on the first place to travel and visit your own home town during your holidays it work break.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The student addresses the prompt by taking a clear position of agreement regarding domestic holidays. The response covers relevant ideas such as experiencing local development, visiting family, and saving on travel costs compared to overcrowded or weather-dependent international destinations. However, the development of some ideas lacks depth and relies on slight generalisations. For instance, the transition between discussing domestic travel and international travel in the third paragraph is somewhat abrupt. Nonetheless, all parts of the prompt are addressed and a consistent stance is maintained throughout. This places the response comfortably at Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding thought. However, paragraphing is somewhat irregular, as the text is broken into short, fragmented paragraphs and a very brief single-sentence conclusion. Cohesive devices are occasionally used (e.g., 'However', 'Also'), but referencing and linking are at times mechanical or faulty, such as 'It is always on the first place to travel...'. The logical progression between ideas is present but can feel disjointed due to abrupt shifts between sentences. These features align well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'contemporary', 'family responsibilities', and 'overcrowded'. However, there are noticeable word choice, spelling, and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'thier', 'culture tradition', and 'much reliable'. Words like 'toursists' also contain spelling errors. While these lexical slips and inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, they prevent the response from achieving a higher band. The vocabulary is minimally sufficient to convey the intended meaning, matching the Band 6 criteria.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, missing articles, and preposition mistakes, such as 'Holiday plays vital role', 'travelling has influenced by', and 'travel Alberta in canada'. Punctuation errors and missing spaces after punctuation marks are also evident. While the complex structures attempted are often faulty, the errors rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main message, making Band 5.5 a fair representation of the student's current grammatical accuracy.
