IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Spending Holidays with your families is the only family vacation left in this fast paced world. With husbands and wife both working to make a living it is very hard for families to find synchronised vacation planning. And with the changing world security conditions, changed environment it is foreseeable that many families will pan their holidays within their own country. we will discuss those reasons below

High Inflations / cost

with the changing world security conditions due to wars and other mobility restrictions, inflation and cost to live and enjoy is increasing day by day. according to economic reports, the percentage of increase in inflation around the world is not proportional to the incremental earnings of the families. this report suggests people who are among upper middle class before ten years are in middle class and this has effected their spending patterns as well. The inflation among economies will not stop anytime soon and it will keep on rising which will impact the people spending patterns and in that holidays spending budgets among families will be moved from 'out of country plans' to 'in country plans'

Racism / discriminations

there are lots protests going on in Spain, France and across Europe against the tourists due to several reasons which include dirtiness in the cities, expensive living for locals etc. these factors are major effecting families to visit outisde their own country where they dont know the culture, envirement or welcomeness from the hosts.

In my experience, not respecting host countries culture is creating distance between tourist and hosts, this will become major reason in planning for vacations outside country. on top of that, cost is the major concern for me as a middle class person. so it is the driving factor for deciding the destination of vacation.
