Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent days, domestic tourism has become increasingly popular. Some people believe that in the future individuals will prefer to spend their holidays in their own country rather than travelling to abroad. I partly agree with this statement and I will expalin my views in upcoming paragraphas because although local tourism is becoming more attractive, international tourism will remain popular.
To begin with, one reason why domestic holidays become more common is the increasing cost of international travel. To elaborate further, airfare, accommodation and travel insurance can be expensive, especially for families. Travelling into their own country can be more affordable and convenient because it eliminates the needs for visas, long flights and complex travel arrangements. As a result, many people like to visit local destinations that is easier to access. Additionally, another factor is that encouraging domestic tourism is growing promotions of local tourist attractions by governement and other tourism companies. As many countries are investing heavily for developing national parks, cultural heritage parks and international facilities to attract residents. For instance, Improving transporation and other facilities make it easier for citizens to explore beautiful place in thier own nation.
On the other hand, travelling abroad will continue to appeal to many people. international travelling allow people to explore the different cultures, cuisines and lifestyle that they cannot found in their local destinations. It also provide sense of adventure and personal growth for many people.
In conclusion, while local holidays likely to become more popular due to its conveinence and lower cost, international tourism still more attractive because of desires of new cultural experiences. In my

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the reasons why domestic tourism might increase and why international travel will remain popular, leading to a balanced position of partial agreement. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as mentioning financial constraints, visa elimination, and the intrinsic appeal of experiencing different cultures. However, the development of some points feels slightly brief, and the conclusion is cut off mid-sentence, which leaves the final stance slightly incomplete. Despite these minor omissions in the conclusion, the writer clearly covers the prompt adequately, earning a solid Band 6.0 in this category.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction. Paragraphing is utilised, separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and a truncated conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', and 'On the other hand'. However, referencing and local cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in minor awkward transitions and agreement issues ('that is easier to access' referring to plural destinations). Overall, the logical progression is evident, but the incomplete final sentence detracts slightly from the flow, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms such as 'domestic tourism', 'international travel', 'accommodation', 'travel insurance', and 'cultural heritage parks'. There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, but these are accompanied by lexical errors and inaccuracies, such as 'travelling to abroad' (unnecessary preposition) and 'cannot found' (incorrect verb form). Spelling and word-choice errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the score to a Band 6.0 according to the descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-style ideas. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions throughout the text. Examples include 'domestic holidays become more common' (instead of became or are becoming), 'eliminates the needs', 'destinations that is', 'government' (misspelled), and 'international travelling allow'. Furthermore, the response ends abruptly in an incomplete sentence. These errors do not entirely impede communication, but they prevent the writing from achieving a higher band, making Band 5.5 the most suitable evaluation.
