Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era travelling is one of the best activites people love doing for peace after busy day at work .some people love travelling in their own countires while others travel abroad for the holidays. Now i will explain my perspective regarding both options by giving the following reasons.
Primarily travelling in your own home country will be cheaper options and saves lots of money , specially for low to medium income groups. while at the same time if individuals plan to go to other countries for holidays will be more expensive, travelling cost , food , accompdation and so on .
Secondly, travelling abroad to diffrent countries will give individuals new opportunities to learn diffrent culture , traditions , languages and values. How other countries celebration their festivals what is their cultural attire and food. Will increase your general knowledge. moreover , you will also build international connections that woukd be rally helpful in the near future.
In conclusion I would like to say , I agree with both the perspectives each points has its own pros and cons in a different way . But I am more in favour of travelling abroad as it gives you more wide exposure and opportunites to gain more knowledge by doing some fun activities. It will be really benficial for teenagers or students who want to study abroad they can learn the culture , rules and laws how their system works it will be easier for them to go and settle their.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both travelling domestically and travelling abroad, eventually taking a clear position in favour of holidaying abroad. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding cost is briefly mentioned as 'cheaper options' and 'more expensive', but lacks deeper extension. Similarly, the points regarding cultural exposure and benefits for students are introduced rather than fully elaborated with specific supporting examples. The writer successfully outlines both perspectives and reaches a concluding stance, which corresponds well to the Band 6 descriptor where all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, though some remain slightly under-developed or broad in nature.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with basic paragraphing that separates the introduction, the two body paragraphs discussing different sides, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. The transition markers used, such as 'Primarily', 'Secondly', and 'moreover', are occasionally awkward or awkwardly punctuated with spacing and capitalization errors (e.g., 'Now i will explain', 'while at the same time if individuals'). Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the conclusion where sentences run together without clear logical signposting ('In conclusion I would like to say , I agree with both the perspectives each points has its own pros and cons...'). Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion lacks smooth progression, placing the performance firmly in the Band 5 to 6 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts related to travel, such as 'accommodation', 'general knowledge', and 'international connections'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'activites' instead of 'activities', 'countires' instead of 'countries', 'accompdation' instead of 'accommodation', 'diffrent' instead of 'different', and 'benficial' instead of 'beneficial'. While attempts are made to use less common vocabulary like 'exposure' and 'cultural attire', the persistent spelling and mechanical errors, along with awkward phrasing like 'wide exposure', indicate limitations in lexical control. These errors do not completely impede communication, aligning with the Band 5 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating conditional ideas and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and sentence boundaries. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'How other countries celebration their festivals what is their cultural attire and food.' and 'It will be really benficial for teenagers or students who want to study abroad they can learn the culture...'. There are also tense and agreement inconsistencies ('each points has'). These recurring errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and demonstrate limited control over complex syntax, which is characteristic of a Band 5 performance.
