IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the modern era, more people are living and settling in foreign countries due to better career opportunities and lifestyle. Therefore, some people say they will go to spend their vacation in their home country rather than going abroad. I partially agree with this statement, which I will elaborate on in the upcoming paragraphs.

Some people believe that in the near future, people will love to spend holidays in their native places, as they are already living far from their families due to their career advancement. For instance, Canada is full of international students and workers, and they often miss their family and relatives, and whenever they get a chance, the first thought that comes to mind is to visit their parents' place instead of going somewhere else. In addition to this, people who live far from their countries feel loneliness and homesickness quite often, and the work schedules of their housemates or friends are varied due to different shifts. So, they go to visit their own country to spend quality time with family, childhood friends, and extended family members.

I partially agree with this notion, as many young people love to explore the country they are living in. So they have a better overview of the place, and it will help them decide whether to continue living there after finishing their studies and gaining experience in a job. Furthermore, some international residents invite their parents to visit them and. Apart from this, some people go to visit their own country because it will help them refresh their minds and find peace by spending time with loved ones.
