Student answer (Band 5.0)

In upcoming time, a lot of individuals will prefer to go to there home town instead of going overseas. This essay agree with the statement brcause of influation of western culture individuals are moving to abroad, away from there family.

First of all, In small city there are not many jobs opportunity so people are moving to big cities due to that many individuals are living far from there parents and hometown. For example, I also moved from India to Canda for better job opportunity and good lifestyle and if I gets holidays i prefer to go to my hometown. Therefore more people prefer to go at vacation to meet family member in future.

Secondly, Many people are moving to big cities and crowded places and feels depression among individuals and they prefer to go to natural places for peace. However, some people are more attached to family so they prefer to visit there friends and family. Such as many of my class-mates prefers to visit there family during vacations.

In conclusion, I strongly agree with the statement as new places and big towns are fasinating for eyes but the real peace humans gets when, they go to place where they born and spend there childhood as compare to big populated cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether people will holiday in their home countries rather than abroad, but it struggles with task fulfillment. Critically, the student has failed to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, writing only 210 words. This under-length impacts the depth and extension of ideas. While a position is stated, the arguments regarding migration for jobs, living away from parents, and feeling depression in big cities are somewhat disjointed and do not fully or clearly answer the core premise of domestic versus international holiday preferences. Ideas are limited and under-developed, leading to a Band 5 score for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. Referencing is also weak in places, for instance, 'individuals are moving to abroad, away from there family' where pronoun referencing and logical links between sentences lack clarity. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion is faulty. Overall, the structure shows some organisation, but information and ideas lack a clear overall progression. This fits the Band 5 descriptors well.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'influation' instead of 'influx' or 'influence', 'Canda' instead of 'Canada', 'gets holidays' instead of 'get holidays', and 'fasinating' instead of 'fascinating'. There are also homophone errors such as 'there home town' instead of 'their home town' and 'there friends' instead of 'their friends'. While the student attempts some less common words, the high density of basic lexical and spelling errors restricts the score to a Band 4.5 or 5.0; given the attempts at adequate range, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is limited, relying mostly on simple and flawed complex sentence structures. There are frequent errors in verb tense, agreement, and punctuation throughout the text. For example, 'This essay agree' should be 'This essay agrees', 'if I gets holidays' has subject-verb agreement issues, and 'when, they go to place where they born' contains missing articles and incorrect passive/active voice usage. Punctuation errors are also common, such as missing spaces after periods and commas placed awkwardly before conjunctions. Because errors are frequent and sometimes cause difficulty for the reader, a Band 5.0 is warranted.
