Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, people prefer to go on holidays to their hometown and this trend can increase in the future. I partly agree with this statement. Because many people are earning for fulfilng their dreams to travell to abroad. However, some people do for their families happines.

On the one hand many individuals move to big countries for the more strong pasport value. Their dreams are not only to earn money, they also want to travell all the world and creates the memories. For example, Youtube vlogs increase a trend of travelling among the peoples. Moreover, travelling to abroad increase more job opportunities and increase communiocation skills.

On the other hand, many individual earnmoney for their loved and prefers to visit their own country as compare to going abroad for vacation. Because many people like to spend time with their family members and loved ones. Such as many of my classmates like visit their family in vaccations. They think with the member of family they collect more memories and enjoy more and they like to remember about their childhood. As we cannot neglect that eveyone have strong bond with family where noone stand only the parents stand.

However, it depends on personal mindset because everyone like to spend thier time with unique style.

In conclusion i partly agree with this statement because trend always change before people used to go on picnics and shopping now they started to travell to new countries. Although spending time in the home country will never change but, it can decrease along the time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the issue—whether holidaying domestically will increase or whether international travel will remain popular. The candidate takes a partial stance, stating that trends change over time. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people travel abroad touches on passport value and vlogs, but these points are underdeveloped and lack clear elaboration. Similarly, the counterargument regarding family bonds is expressed through simple examples, such as classmates visiting family. While all parts of the task are addressed, the overall development corresponds to a Band 5 or 6 level, where ideas are introduced but not fully explored or substantiated with deep analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a recognisable structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, demonstrating an overall logical arrangement. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs mix disparate ideas. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Because' or repetitive transitions like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'noone stand only the parents stand,' which disrupts the logical flow. There is a lack of smooth progression between ideas, placing the response firmly in the Band 5 category for Coherence and Cohesion due to inadequate and repetitive cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'fulfilng', 'travell', 'happines', 'pasport', 'communiocation', 'vaccations', and 'eveyone'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'pasport value' and 'personal mindset', but these are often marred by inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general message, the high frequency of spelling and lexical errors restricts the score to a Band 5, as these errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are numerous grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, such as fragment sentences ('Because many people are earning for fulfilng their dreams to travell to abroad.') and subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone like', 'trend always change'). Punctuation is also problematic in places, leading to run-on structures or disjointed clauses. Because these errors occur frequently and occasionally impede communication, the grammar performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors.
