Student answer (Band 6.0)

The future of travelling abrod for vacations is not bright, Due to the economical reasons. Affording a foreign trip is becoming harder because of instability in international market. I think people would like to explore their own countries in future.

Globalization gave a huge push to tourism in last few dacade however, the current situation is bringing some changes in this trend. The instability in global economy has caused people to explore local places. The countries around the worlds are suffering from financial deficits and dept. This persuaded nation to increase tariffs on other countries. When this happens, it discourage people to go and spend their money to those countries the gratest example of this is tariffs imposed by US on Canada. This coused many canadian a feeling of discouragement and persuaded them not to visit US for this year. There has been a drop of Canadian visitors in US in year 2026.

The slow economy had a huge impact on immigration policies. When residence living in a country struggle to survive and face hardity to afford food and shelter, the government have to cut immigration to sustain the economy. In year 2026, Canadian immigration was reduced by nearly 68% as per IRCC. The visa restrictions create a hurdel for visitors. This left people no choice but to explore the wonderful places in their home country. The government around the world are going to have more balanced approach of calling visitors which will make it harder.

To conclude, The economical instability and balanced immigration policies will be continusely impacting the tourism however, people can still satisfy themselves by exploring their home countries. The impact of the current situation will last but this should not people form enjoying their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether people will holiday domestically rather than abroad in the future. You take a clear position agreeing with the prompt, noting that economic reasons and immigration/visa restrictions will drive this trend. Ideas are extended with examples, such as tariffs between the US and Canada and statistics relating to visa changes. However, some arguments rely on very specific, speculative current examples and mild generalisations. While all parts of the task are addressed, the depth of exploration could be slightly more fully developed to reach higher bands. Your presentation of reasons and supporting examples aligns well with the descriptors for Band 6.5 or a solid Band 6, covering the prompt adequately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct points, such as economic factors and immigration issues. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in transitions like 'Globalization gave a huge push to tourism in last few dacade however, the current situation...' where punctuation and linking could be smoother. Referencing is mostly clear, though logical progression between sentences occasionally feels slightly abrupt. Overall, the organisational structure provides an adequate framework, matching the Band 6 descriptors for cohesion and paragraphing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and topic-specific terms such as 'financial deficits', 'tariffs', 'immigration policies', and 'visa restrictions'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'abrod' instead of abroad, 'economical' instead of economic, 'dacade' instead of decade, 'dept' instead of debt, 'discourage' (used instead of discouraged), 'gratest', 'coused', 'canadian' (plural form needed), 'residence' instead of residents, 'hardity' instead of hardship, 'hurdel' instead of hurdle, and 'continusely'. While these errors do not severely impede overall communication, their frequency prevents you from achieving a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures such as conditional and causal clauses ('When this happens, it discourage people to go...'). However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the government have to cut', 'government around the world are'), incorrect verb forms ('this should not people form enjoying'), and missing punctuation. While many sentences communicate your meaning clearly, the accumulation of grammatical inaccuracies places this performance firmly within the Band 5.5 to 6 range.
