Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that in the future, people will prefer taking holidays in their own country rather than travelling abroad. I disagree with this view because affordable international flight's and boarden horizons.
One major reason is that International holidays are giving affordable travel package on same amount we used to spend in our country. This is because social awareness on online deals. For example, I am living in Delhi and I planning to travel kerala with my family If I am creating travel itenary for a week it cost me approximately nearby of singapore cost where I can explore famous places and meet new people. Therefore, Tourist love to travel international instead of their own country.
Another important reason is that domestic holidays are convenient but also expensive. This is because of summer vaccation as few famous cities like south india, Himachal for hills station etc become overcrowded due to less travel time no language barrier. For instance, I am planning a trip for a week to malaysia to visit beaches I need to book flights ticket, hotel and want to visit few famous places or try local cusine. As a result, If I calculate budget it reach to kind of domestic trip budget to our famous places because of affordable online deals and social awareness.
In conclusion, although in our own country we explore everything like food, attire and culture tradition, I believe that to boarden our prespective we will continue move to abroad to understand other culture and traditon because of budget friendly flights and online deals make foreign holidays easier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear opposing position regarding future holiday trends. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. While the writer attempts to present reasons involving cost and online deals, the supporting examples are confusingly structured and sometimes contradictory, making it difficult to fully grasp the argument. For instance, the second body paragraph states that travelling to Kerala from Delhi costs roughly the same as visiting Singapore, yet this comparison lacks clear elaboration. Similarly, the third paragraph attempts to compare domestic and international travel expenses but mixes up destinations and concepts. To improve, the ideas need to be extended with clearer explanations and more coherent, logical reasoning throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some overall organization with paragraph divisions and basic cohesive devices such as 'One major reason' and 'In conclusion'. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and referencing can be confusing, particularly when transitioning between examples. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and sentences within paragraphs do not always flow logically from one to the next. For example, the final paragraph attempts to summarize the arguments but relies on clunky transitions. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure that information is sequenced with smoother logical links and that referencing between sentences is consistently clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'itinerary' and 'perspective', but struggles with word form, collocation, and spelling. Examples of lexical slips include 'flight's' with an unnecessary apostrophe, 'boarden horizons' (instead of broaden), 'cusine' (cuisine), and 'vaccation' (vacation). Additionally, awkward phrasing such as 'nearby of singapore cost' and 'social awareness on online deals' reflects a restricted range and imprecise word choice. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding their vocabulary range and checking spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response employs a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple or awkwardly constructed complex sentences. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to noticeable structural errors. There are frequent mistakes involving verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'Tourist love to travel international', 'I planning to travel kerala', and 'reach to kind of domestic trip budget'. Punctuation is also problematic in places, with run-on sentences that lack appropriate separation. While meaning is generally conveyed, these frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence forms and reduce basic grammatical mistakes.
