Student answer (Band 5.5)

In future more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country yes i agree, the main reason is that inflation is getting higher day by day and one has to look for a handsome amount of money while planning for travel. If we talk about going abroad then there are many factors that has to be manange like visa (which takes time in some cases), cost for tickets according to number of family members, cost for hotels of country where you have to stay and for how long and prior information regarding country you are planning for.All these factors time taking also you have to co-ordinate these things with your job holidays, for example if I talk about my own experience of traveling abroad 2 years before then i had to manange many things along with my job.

First of all i had to take NOC i.e no objection certificate from my department as i am a government servant so that no one stops me at the airport and i would have to go home instead of going for a vacation which i was planning for 2 months and all my dreams spoil due to one mistake, Well it was a huge task then comes the preparation ,shopping and luggage.

The greatest of all is when you come back to your home town you have to buy at least one gift for each of your family members and collegues ,and of course it is not a free of cost.

So travelling abroad costs you more whether its financially or emotionally.

Conclusion is that it all depends on how financialy strong are you .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your response addresses all parts of the prompt by stating a clear position on why people might choose domestic holidays over travelling abroad due to rising inflation and logistical hurdles. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While you provide relevant personal insights, such as the complications of obtaining a No Objection Certificate as a government servant, other points like hotel costs and ticket prices are introduced briefly without deep exploration. To reach a higher level, you should extend and support all your main arguments with more thorough explanations and relevant examples rather than relying on brief listings of factors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your essay shows a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction and a clear stance on the topic. Nevertheless, the progression of ideas sometimes feels mechanical or disjointed, and referencing is not always clear, as seen in the sudden shift into personal anecdotes without smooth transitional signposts. Paragraphing is an area that needs significant attention; your second paragraph is excessively long and crams multiple distinct ideas, such as paperwork, luggage, and gift-buying, into a single block of text. Organising your response into clearly defined, logically structured paragraphs with better use of cohesive devices would greatly improve the flow and readability of your writing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'handsome amount of money' and 'no objection certificate' to convey your thoughts. However, there are noticeable word-choice and spelling errors that occasionally reveal limitations in your lexical control, such as 'financialy' instead of financially, 'manange' instead of manage, and 'collegues' instead of colleagues. While these inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, they prevent you from achieving a higher score. To improve, you should focus on precision in word choice, correct spelling, and natural collocations when attempting to use more sophisticated expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but the control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in basic sentence structure, punctuation, and article usage, such as run-on sentences ('If we talk about going abroad then there are many factors that has to be manange...'), missing apostrophes ('job holidays'), and agreement issues ('factors that has to be'). These errors require some effort from the reader to decode your intended meaning. To progress, you need to work on forming accurate complex sentences, mastering subject-verb agreement, and ensuring your punctuation clearly separates independent clauses.
