Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, There are many different opinion about this topic and, I strongly believe that more people will choose to travel abroad on holiday rather than their own country. Although it might be a good idea to travel in your own country but not for eveyone.

On the one hand, More people would love to travel outside of their country for number of reasons. Firstly, You get to know about other culture, Their language, Lifestyle, Food, Night Life and many more things. Furthermore, Traveling to different country can teach you about things that you never knew. I remember few years ago i was in india and i really wanted to visit canada to see rocky mountains and when i reached their i realized there were lot of diffrence in my country's air and in here. I felt so happy that i choose to explore canadian rockies. This taught me values of difference between culture and Traditions.

On the second hand, People who travel within their own country might miss lot of things in their life. But there are few reason i feel people choose to travel in their own country. Number one is expense if you take a tour outside of the nation it cost you a lot of money from fligths tickets to hotel expense, on food and to visit that countries famous places you have pay fees for it; this is why many people choose to travel in their own country to save expenses on hotels. Second reason folks do domestic travel is to boost reginoal economies during global financial downswings.

In conclusion, I totally disagree with the thought of more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. In fact, More human will spend their long holidays on diverse destination.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position throughout by stating a strong disagreement with the prompt. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the benefits of cultural exposure when traveling abroad and the financial considerations of domestic tourism. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack full extension. For instance, the personal anecdote about visiting Canada touches upon air quality and the Rocky Mountains, but the link back to the main argument regarding cultural value remains somewhat limited. Similarly, the points regarding regional economies are introduced rather briefly without being fully elaborated. To move to a higher level, the writer should ensure that every main idea is supported by deeper explanations and fully realized examples rather than surface-level statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, identifiable stance introduced in the beginning and reaffirmed in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to divide the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. The transitions used at the beginning of body paragraphs, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the second hand' (rather than 'On the other hand'), show awkwardness in cohesive phrasing. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the abrupt shift in the second body paragraph. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure that logical relationships between sentences and paragraphs flow more naturally without repetitive or unnatural transitional phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and makes noticeable attempts to use less common items, such as 'global financial downswings' and 'diverse destination'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and collocation that prevent a smoother reading experience. Examples include 'eveyone' (everyone), 'diffrence' (difference), 'fligths tickets' (flight tickets), and 'reginoal' (regional). Furthermore, phrasing such as 'more human will spend' is unnatural in this context. While these vocabulary and spelling errors do not seriously impede communication, they highlight the need for greater precision and better control over less common lexical items to reach higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures like conditional and subordinate clauses, as seen in 'Although it might be a good idea to travel in your own country but not for eveyone.' There are several errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including comma splices, issues with subject-verb agreement, and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. For example, 'Nowadays, There are many different opinion' contains capitalization and pluralization errors, and 'when i reached their i realized' features pronoun and spelling errors alongside missing punctuation. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they occur frequently enough to characterize this level. To improve, the writer should focus on reducing basic grammatical slips and exercising better control over sentence boundaries and punctuation.
