Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear position—“I agree”—and give relevant reasons, including spending time with family, enjoying local festivals and feeling comfortable in familiar surroundings. The examples about celebrating festivals and visiting a village help connect your ideas to domestic holidays. However, the response only minimally develops the argument: several points are vague or difficult to interpret, such as “they can also progress” and the claim that holidays help people’s physical and mental health. The comparison with travel abroad is also unclear and not supported with a specific example. The response contains 241 words, so it is 9 words below the required minimum; the 10 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a clear explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding summary. These paragraph divisions and signposts help the reader identify the main stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the first body paragraph moves from culture and festivals to habits, shared problems, work opportunities and housework. Some linking is repetitive or unclear, as in “also” and “so that than better.” Improve coherence by giving each paragraph one main reason, arranging its supporting details logically, and using clear links such as “This is because” or “For instance.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “festivals,” “culture,” “relatives,” “memorable” and “experience,” which gives you a basic range for discussing holidays. However, vocabulary is often repetitive, and inaccurate word choice or spelling sometimes makes the intended meaning hard to understand. Phrases such as “assest their culture,” “assist incresed energy” and “excellent memories” do not express the ideas naturally; “abroab” and “togethr” also contain spelling errors. Try to learn common collocations for this topic, such as “experience local traditions,” “recharge their energy” and “create lasting memories.” More precise vocabulary would help you explain your reasons without relying repeatedly on “people,” “country” and “quality time.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response uses basic sequencing structures such as “Firstly” and “For example.” However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes obscure the relationships between ideas. For instance, “I agree this statement i think” lacks a grammatical link between the clauses, while “Many people to go on holiday own country spend their quality time” has an incomplete verb pattern and missing grammatical elements. There are also problems with sentence boundaries, capitalisation and punctuation, including the fragment “When go there on holiday.” Practise forming complete sentences with a subject and verb, and check articles, prepositions and agreement. Clearer sentence construction will make your reasons easier to understand.
