Student answer (Band 6.0)

In upcoming years, a lot number of people will choose their own nation rather then going overseas to spend their holidays. I totally disagree with this statement. In this essay I will discuss a few reasons for my opinion.

Firstly, currently most of people prefere going abroad during vacations and long weekends. I think this trend continue to follow in the future, as people who have money always choose better place to spend time. For example, a number of individuals who visited Dubai city is very high as it has many tourist attracted places.

Secondly, many country started giving visa free entry for visitors. By doing this they increase tourism and generate revenue. And in the future governments will definitely try to attract as many as people by giving such opportunities. For instance, recently many states in the world give 6 months visa free entry for people such as Shri Lanka, Thailand.

Moreover, an internet play a vital role in continuing an abroad travel in the future. Nowadays, people tend to share photos and videos of places they have visited. In simple words, individuals will get attracted by watching videos of the beautiful places, therefore, there might be a chance that their interest to visit that places increases. To illustrate, my friend visited Canada last month, she showed me pictures of many places, now I am also planning to visit Canada in few years.

In conclusion, I firmly disagree with this statement as good locations, visa free travel and attractions by watching videos and photos on internet are the main points, where I think travelling to abroad are continuing in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you disagree that domestic holidays will become more popular than overseas travel. You give three relevant reasons—people’s desire to visit attractive destinations, visa-free access, and the influence of online photos and videos—and the example about your friend’s visit to Canada makes the final point concrete. This covers the task well. However, some support is less fully developed: the claim that people with money will “always choose better place” is broad, and the visa-free example would be stronger if you explained how it encourages holidaymakers specifically. To strengthen the response further, clarify why these trends will continue and connect each example more explicitly to your prediction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, three body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the argument, while “For example” and “To illustrate” introduce supporting details. This is a logical and effective structure. Some linking is a little mechanical, and the conclusion’s list of reasons is less smooth than the body paragraphs. There are also places where connections between claims could be clearer—for instance, explain more directly how visa-free entry leads people to choose foreign holidays. Use a wider variety of natural transitions and make the relationship between each reason and your central prediction explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to travel and tourism, including “overseas,” “visa free entry,” “generate revenue,” “tourist attractions,” and “attracted.” These choices communicate your main ideas, and the examples give you opportunities to use topic-specific language. However, noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors limit precision: “a lot number of people,” “better place,” “tourist attracted places,” and “attractions by watching videos” are not natural expressions. There is also repetition of “people,” “places,” and “future.” Build a more accurate range of travel collocations and check spelling, such as “prefer,” “Sri Lanka,” and “attractions.” More precise phrasing would make the argument sound clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause (“as people who have money…”) and a conditional-style prediction (“there might be a chance…”). Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “most of people prefer” (missing an article), “this trend continue” (subject–verb agreement), “an internet” (article use), and “their interest to visit that places increases” (agreement and plural form). The final sentence also has an unclear grammatical structure. Work on articles, agreement, and sentence construction, and proofread longer sentences carefully. Greater accuracy across these structures would make your reasoning easier to follow.
