Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is predicted that domestic holidays will be more popular than the international trips in the coming years . I partially agree with this view , as rising cost and weather effect will force to admit local travel , although foreign travel will be continue and attract many people.

To commence with , Domestic holidays are much cheaper and can be planned immediatley whenever peple want as there is no need to apply and wait for Visa . For instance , It s more than a year of waiting time to appear for US tourist visa interview and still not guarentee that everyone will passed that interview and got their visa . Following this is the rising cost of living in foreign countries mainly beacuse of currency difference as one US dollar is equal to 95INR which makes it as an expensive travel .

Moreover , weather plays a major role to avoid internation trips as different countries has different weather at same time and tourist may fell sick during travel as they are not used to extreme cold or hot temperatures. For example , Winter in many countries is so wild that temperature temperature can drop below freezing withing hours and make people fell sick . On the other hand , travellers will continue foreign travels as a part of adventure and to explore different cultures as this opportunity is hard to find in local journeys.

Overall , local holidays can be grown as a result of rising cost and weather concerns, but overseas travel will be continued to explore more cultures and adventures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you partially agree that domestic holidays will become more popular, while recognising that overseas travel will continue. You address both sides and support your view with relevant examples, including visa delays, currency costs and differences in climate. This gives the response a solid, relevant foundation. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that weather will discourage international travel would be stronger if you explained why travellers would choose a domestic destination instead, and the final point about adventure and cultural exploration is brief. Develop these ideas with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and a more specific example to make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons and a counterpoint, and a concluding summary. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “On the other hand” help signal the progression of ideas, and the reader can follow your main argument. Some connections are less smooth, however. “Following this is the rising cost” does not clearly show how the cost point relates to visa delays, while the weather discussion moves quickly from illness to the opposing argument. Use more precise transitions and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit. This would make the progression feel less formulaic and improve cohesion between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “domestic holidays,” “currency difference,” “tourist visa interview,” and “explore different cultures.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts to use more specific language. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “immediatley,” “guarentee,” “wild” for severe winter conditions, and “local journeys.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “weather effect will force to admit local travel” and “rising cost of living in foreign countries.” Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More natural expressions such as “weather-related concerns may encourage people to travel domestically” would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “although foreign travel will be continue” and a reason clause beginning “as there is no need to apply.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “will be continue” should be “will continue,” “different countries has” should be “different countries have,” and “not guarentee that everyone will passed” needs a corrected verb pattern. There are also punctuation and spacing problems around commas and full stops. Review subject–verb agreement and future forms, then proofread each sentence for complete, correctly connected clauses.
