Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the coming decades, the majority of people choose to go on holiday in their native country rather than travel abroad on holiday. I agree with this statement as, they have less travel time as well as fewer visa requirements and no language barriers.

On the one hand, the most people prefer to spend their holidays in their own country because they do not face problem regarding language. They communicate with people by their native language which they speak from their birth time. For example, a person who speak Punjabi and the or she travel from their own city to Amritsar city. while travelling he or she can communicate with other people and easily explain everything in their native language.

Moreover, spending holiday in their own country saves not only time but also money. During travel from their own country to travel abroad have some visa requirements and lots of documents which is necessary and it takes upto two to three months. After approving visa people spend money on flight tickets and shopping. While travelling abroad on holiday they also spend money on hotels, restaurants as well as to buy things from tourist attraction places.

In conclusion, more and more people choose to go on holiday in their own country rather than not travel abroad on holiday as it eliminates language barriers as well as reduces travel costs andinvolves fewer visa processes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that people will increasingly holiday at home, and you give relevant reasons—language familiarity, shorter travel, and fewer visa-related costs. The Punjabi-to-Amritsar example helps illustrate the language point. However, the response contains 223 words, so it is 27 words below the 250-word minimum; nine words copied from the prompt were not counted. This limits how fully you can explain and support your ideas. The cost paragraph also focuses mainly on expenses associated with overseas travel, without clearly showing why this will lead more people to choose domestic holidays in the future. Develop that link and add a specific example or explanation for each main reason.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates the position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” makes the structure easy to follow. However, the first transition is not quite appropriate because the essay does not go on to present the opposing side. Some connections are also mechanical, and the example’s sequence is difficult to follow, particularly “a person who speak Punjabi and the or she travel.” The final sentence joins several points together without a clear pause. Use transitions that reflect the actual relationship between ideas, and make references and sentence boundaries clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “visa requirements,” “language barriers,” “flight tickets,” and “tourist attraction places.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “from their birth time” is not a natural way to describe learning a language, and “spend money on … to buy things from tourist attraction places” is awkward. There is also repetition of “holiday,” “travel,” and “money.” Build a wider set of natural phrases for domestic and international tourism, and check how words combine in context. More precise vocabulary would make your reasons clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including the structure “saves not only time but also money,” and your main position is generally understandable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, especially in verb forms, agreement, pronouns, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “the majority of people choose” after a future-time opening, “the most people prefer,” “a person who speak,” and “he or she travel.” The example also contains a sentence fragment after “Amritsar city,” while “as, they” has incorrect punctuation. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence construction before adding more complex clauses.
