Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many citizens will prefer to go on holiday in their own country rather than travel overseas for holidays in the foreseeable future. I strongly agree with this statement due to tthe high rate of massive urban development most countries will experience in future, and high cost of international travel.

One major reason why indiviuals would likely prefer spending their holiday in their own country is the urban development. Technology is fast transforming cities and in no distant time many countries will develop massively there by reducing he number of tourists in other countries. For example, People travel to Zanziber because of the bueatiful establishment in it and when country like Nigeria have thing like that in their country, many people wont be motivated to travel far just to see bueatiful establishments. Therefore, encouraging citizens to spend more time in the country.

Another significaant factor is high cost of international travel. This is because expenses such as flight tickets, accommodation and feeding may become increasenly expensive, making foreign holidays unaffordable for many people. As a result tourists may prefer to spend holidays within ttheir own country. For example, Nigerians who find it difficult to afford a trip to theUnited Kingdom may choose to visit a local touriist center instead.

In conclusion,I strongly agree that in the foreseeable future many inidividual may result in spending holidays in their country due to high cost of international travel and the massive urban developments most contries are likely to have in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you strongly agree that domestic holidays will become more popular. You give two relevant reasons—urban development and the cost of overseas travel—and support them with examples involving Nigeria, Zanzibar and the United Kingdom. However, the urban-development argument is not fully clear: the link between new developments at home and fewer people travelling abroad needs more explanation, and the examples are asserted rather than developed. The response also falls short of the required 250 words: it contains 240 words, and the eight words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Add explanation or a further relevant example to develop your ideas and meet the minimum.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Linking phrases such as “One major reason,” “Another significant factor,” and “As a result” help readers follow the progression. This coherent structure meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. To make the progression more consistently smooth, clarify the connection between urban development and reduced overseas travel, and avoid ending the first body paragraph with the fragment “Therefore, encouraging citizens…” Integrate that point into the preceding sentence. Also use spacing after punctuation, as in “In conclusion, I strongly agree,” to make the text easier to read.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “international travel,” “accommodation,” “unaffordable,” and “local tourist centre.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “indiviuals,” “bueatiful,” “significaant,” and “inidividual.” Some expressions are also awkward or unclear, such as “high rate of massive urban development” and “many people wont be motivated.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make the writing less fluent. Check spelling carefully and choose more precise collocations, such as “rapid urban development” and “less inclined to travel abroad.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the clause “This is because expenses such as flight tickets… may become increasingly expensive, making foreign holidays unaffordable.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems are present. For example, “many countries will develop massively there by reducing he number” has an unclear clause connection and a missing article, while “when country like Nigeria have” needs a plural or singular subject with matching verb agreement. The sentence beginning “Therefore, encouraging citizens…” is incomplete. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles and complete sentence structure, and proofread punctuation and spacing. These changes would make your varied sentence attempts more consistently controlled.
