Student answer (Band 6.0)

Travelling plays a vital role in human life because they learn about different cultures. Some folks argue that in upcoming years, people prefer to explore their own country rather than visiting other nations on their vacations. I agree with this statement and I will explain it in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, people will prefer to travel their own country because it will save them a lot of money. In recent years, social media has become a greatest tool for exploring tourist places inside their country. It recommends stunning places that people had never visited before in their own country and people become more excited to visit those places. Secondly, people who have businesses in other countries , they frequently travel to other countries on their vacations because thy works in their nation as well. Now they do not have to attend business meetings because they can participate the meetings online with the help of social media. Thus, it helps people to save money on unnecessary fee for visas, application and flight tickets.

Furthermore, sometimes travelling outside becomes extremely dangerous for the people. People explore other countries without having the proper understanding of the rules and regulations. For instance, people gets stuck at the immigration after arriving to new country because they carry illegals drugs which might be legal in their home country but not in the other nation. A news article revealed that these kind of cases has increased from the last few years and several people got arrested even when they were innocent.

From my perspective , people should travel in their own country to get involved in legal matters and it also helps the country economy as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that people will increasingly holiday in their own country, and you give relevant reasons involving cost, online meetings and safety. The examples about discovering domestic destinations through social media and avoiding visa and flight expenses support the argument. However, the business-travel point is not fully clear: the link between people’s overseas businesses, holidays and online meetings needs explaining. The immigration example is relevant to travel risks, but the claim that people are arrested while innocent is not clearly connected to why domestic holidays will become more popular. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation of how it supports your prediction, and make the conclusion summarise your main argument more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding statement. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” help readers follow the main points. However, the progression within the first body paragraph is sometimes difficult to track: the discussion moves from saving money to social media, then to people with businesses abroad, without making the connections explicit. Some linking is also mechanical, and the final paragraph introduces “legal matters” without a clear link to the preceding safety example. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s central reason, and connect examples directly to that reason. Clearer referencing and transitions would make the argument flow more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “different cultures,” “tourist places,” “immigration,” and “rules and regulations,” which allows you to discuss travel, cost and safety. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “unnecessary fee for visas” and “stunning places.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “travel their own country,” “a greatest tool,” and “get involved in legal matters.” These reduce naturalness, even though the main meaning is generally understandable. Aim for more precise travel-related expressions and check whether words commonly occur together. For example, use “travel within their own country” and “face legal problems” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause (“because it will save them a lot of money”) and a relative clause (“places that people had never visited before”). This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas can generally be understood. Some grammatical errors remain, however: “people gets” should be “people get,” “these kind of cases has” should be “these kinds of cases have,” and “they works” should be “they work.” There are also article and sentence-pattern problems, as in “a greatest tool” and “participate the meetings.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles and verb patterns, then proofread punctuation and spacing. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
