Student answer (Band 6.0)

it is assumed that number of people who prefer to enjoy vacations in thier native nation rather than going abroad is likely to increase. i largely agree with this notion because nowadays residents are far more aware about travelling destinations, with the help of social media platforms and domestic commuting is financially sustainble option for travellers.

A substantial amount of people are choosing to travel in their own countries primarily because they are getting exposed to travel related content , which helps them gain detailed information by sharing expences related to accomodation, transporatation, and even the best spots to visit in that specific region.Kalpa, for instance, a small town in Himachal Pradesh is now getting a lot of attention from tourists due to its natural waterfalls that can only be seen in foreign countries. As a result, individuals'awareness is playing a crucial role in changing peoples' travelling choices.

Another key factor why commuters can consider planning holidays in thier own country is that they have budgetery restrictions. When people go abroad for vacations they need significant amount of expenditure which may otherwise can be saved, if they pick thier own country as their travelling landmark, as it can cut the cost of flight bookings and hidden expences required in abroad.India can be a perfect example of this, as it provide cheaper alternatives in terms of food and transport. Therefore, a large segement of society is likely to enjoy thier holidays domestically.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you largely agree that domestic holidays will become more popular, and you give two relevant reasons—greater awareness of destinations through social media and lower costs. The Kalpa example supports the first point, while the comparison with overseas travel and the reference to India support the second. However, some ideas need fuller explanation: the claim that Kalpa offers waterfalls “that can only be seen in foreign countries” is unclear and does not convincingly show why awareness changes travel choices. The response also ends with “in conclusion,” but does not provide a concluding statement. In addition, it is 12 words below the required minimum. Develop the examples and complete the conclusion to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and an attempted conclusion. Linking phrases such as “primarily because,” “Another key factor,” and “Therefore” help show the relationship between ideas. However, the final “in conclusion,” is unfinished, so the essay lacks a completed ending that restates your position. Some connections within sentences are also difficult to follow, particularly the long explanation about travel-related content and the list of expenses and places to visit. Use clearer sentence boundaries and make references explicit—for example, explain what information social media provides and how that leads people to choose domestic trips. This would make the progression less mechanical and easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “travel-related content,” “accommodation,” “transportation,” “flight bookings,” and “budgetary restrictions.” These choices show an attempt to discuss tourism and costs precisely. However, spelling errors and awkward collocations are noticeable, including “thier,” “sustainble,” “expences,” and “travelling landmark.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “commuters” usually refers to people travelling regularly to work, not holidaymakers, and “natural waterfalls that can only be seen in foreign countries” is an unclear comparison. Choose more natural tourism-related phrases and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would make your ideas clearer and demonstrate stronger control of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional structure with “if they pick their own country.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “it provide cheaper alternatives” needs subject–verb agreement, while “they need significant amount of expenditure” requires an article. The construction “which may otherwise can be saved” combines incompatible modal forms, and the opening sentence begins with a lowercase letter. Several sentences are long and contain multiple ideas, making their grammatical relationships harder to control. Practise checking each clause for a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate ideas when needed.
