Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the coming years, many individuals will not prefer to travel outside their country on vacation and opt to go on vacation in their own nation. I object to this because more people prefer to explore new places and their culture.

Furthermore, the desire to visit international place, learn their culture how people celebrate their festivals, how they dress for those occasions, celebration and foremost their cuisine, different country has different food speciality and many individual like to taste them and people love to explore new places they feel refreshed and relaxed after working continuously and taking a vacation and enjoying it with their family and friends.

For an example there are diversity in India, people from different nation comes and explore different places in India such as Gateway of India. Cultural wise people enjoy the Diwali festival, as it is a festival of light and there are crackers everywhere, from children to adult everyone enjoys it and people from different country also love it and enjoy and especially different Indian cuisine like Biryaniin main dish and in dessert Gulab jamun is loved by most of the people and appreciated by many people.

In conclusion, Many people will choose to travel internationally for their holiday and not prefer their own country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you disagree that people will increasingly holiday at home, and you give relevant reasons, including interest in other cultures, festivals and food. The India example adds some support, particularly the references to Diwali and local dishes. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the main reasons are listed rather than explained, and the example focuses on visitors coming to India without clearly showing why people will choose overseas holidays instead of domestic ones. The conclusion repeats your view but does not develop it. The response is also 39 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain each reason with a specific link to international travel and add a developed example or comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: you state your opinion in the opening, give reasons and an example in separate paragraphs, and finish with a conclusion. This makes the general direction understandable. However, progression within the body paragraphs is weak. The second paragraph combines many points—culture, festivals, clothing, food and relaxation—in one long sentence, so the relationships between them are difficult to follow. The India paragraph also shifts from tourism to Diwali and cuisine without clearly connecting these details to your argument. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” are present, but they do not compensate for unclear sequencing. Use one main idea per paragraph, develop it in a logical order, and use clear references to connect examples back to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “explore,” “culture,” “festivals,” “cuisine” and “refreshed and relaxed,” which helps communicate your interest-based argument. There are also attempts at more specific language in the examples, such as “festival of light” and “different Indian cuisine.” However, the range is limited by repeated words and phrases, especially “people,” “different,” “enjoy” and “vacation.” Some combinations are unnatural or unclear, such as “international place,” “Cultural wise” and “food speciality.” The spelling and spacing in “Biryaniin” also distract from the message. Build a broader set of accurate travel-related collocations and check word forms and spelling so your meaning is expressed more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, and the opening communicates your position clearly. However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine several ideas often produce faulty sentence structures. For example, the second paragraph runs together multiple clauses without clear sentence boundaries, while “different country has different food speciality” has problems with articles and singular/plural agreement. In the India example, “people from different nation comes” also shows agreement and number errors. Capitalisation is inconsistent in “Many” after the conclusion marker. These errors sometimes make the reader work to identify how ideas relate. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them using accurate subordinate clauses and punctuation.
