Student answer (Band 6.0)

To spend their vacations, a greater proportion of people will prefer to spend that time in their own state instead of travelling to abroad. I strongly agree with this view because people wants to meet their family and it will cost effective for them also to visit their homeland. This essay will discuss reasons for this upcoming trend in future.

One of the primary reason for this is a number of people wants to meet their family and friends. Moreover, they want to spend their quality time with their own people such as parents, siblings and childhood friends. Some individuals with their children go outside within their homeland to show beautiful views to their offspring's and make memories with them. To illustrate this, many Asian citizens usually go to their own state to refresh and relax themselves.

Another significant factor to consider is that certain individuals prefer to visit their own nation because they think that it is cost-effective for them. Furthermore, some humans have to pay less airfare for their own nation. It also reduces their other expenses such as on currency exchange and they have to pay less money on things such as stationery things and grocery. For instance, in some areas majority of people do not have to pay amount for renting because of their intact hometown.

In conclusion, most of the population will prefer to go their home country to spend their holiday there because of their relatives and have to consume low money on travelling. So, I strongly believe that it is a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that people will increasingly holiday in their own country. You give two relevant reasons—visiting family and friends, and reducing travel costs—and include examples, so the task is addressed. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The family point is supported with examples of spending time with relatives and showing children local scenery, but the cost argument is less clear: the claims about stationery and groceries, and not paying rent because of an “intact hometown,” do not clearly explain typical holiday savings. The conclusion also calls this a “positive development,” although the task asks whether you agree or disagree, so briefly explaining why you consider it positive would make your response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from family visits to affordability is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Another significant factor,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the expected level of coherent organisation. To make the flow more natural and approach stronger cohesion, avoid relying so heavily on formulaic transitions and connect each example more explicitly to the point it supports. For instance, explain how visiting relatives reduces accommodation costs before moving to the example about renting. Some references, such as “their own state” and “their own nation,” also shift terminology and could be made more consistent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “cost-effective,” “currency exchange,” “offspring,” and “refresh and relax.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “things,” and “money,” and several choices or collocations sound unnatural. “Spend their quality time” would be more naturally expressed as “spend quality time,” while “stationery things” is unclear in this context. “Intact hometown” does not convey the intended idea, and “consume low money” is not an appropriate collocation. These noticeable inaccuracies sometimes make the reader pause, which limits precision. Aim for natural, specific phrases rather than adding uncommon vocabulary where a simpler expression is clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “such as,” and the overall meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with subject–verb agreement: “people wants” and “One of the primary reason” should be corrected to “people want” and “One of the primary reasons.” There are also issues with articles and prepositions, as in “travelling to abroad” and “prefer to go their home country.” The sentence beginning “Some individuals with their children go outside within their homeland” is awkwardly constructed, making the relationship between the people and the action unclear. Check agreement, articles, and sentence patterns carefully, while continuing to practise varied structures.
