In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
I personally believe that increasing number of individuals will choose to have holidays in own country rather than go abroad, I disagree with the notion that it will completely replace international travel, as the desire for unique cultural exploration remains irreplaceable. Lets discuss both in detail have a look on.
On the one hand, in coming future will travel nearby picnic spots for their vacations because they find it easy and budget friendly. Some citizen are well settled and they have enough funds to tolerat their travel expenses while others have limited resources they would not be able to bear their expenses with family. For instance, Islamabad in my country most of the population go to there for holidays because it is reliable and budget friendly which not only saves time but also minimize environmental impact. Thus convenience and sustainability will continue to boost the domestic tourism sector.
On the other hand, domestic travel cannot replicate the benefits of going abroad. Travelling to a foreign country give chance to individual to experience quite a different environment culture and language which local trips cannot. For example, a person living in Pakistan cannot experience the beauty and uniqueness of Egyptian pyramids without crossing the borders. Therefore international travel will always be a distict and powerful appeal for those seeking true adventure.
in conclusion, although economic barrier may restrict people to holiday within their own country rather than go abroad, international tourism will not disappear completely for those who could afford it or have appeal for adventure.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you expect domestic holidays to grow, but disagree that they will replace international travel. You address both sides and support them with relevant examples, including affordability and a visit to the Egyptian pyramids. This meets the task well overall. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The Islamabad example is described as “reliable and budget friendly,” but you could explain more specifically why people choose it or how this supports your prediction about future travel. Likewise, the claim that international travel will remain appealing could be extended with another reason beyond cultural difference and adventure. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation of its significance to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between domestic and international travel, while “Thus” and “Therefore” connect examples to claims. Some cohesion is less controlled, however. The opening sentence joins several ideas with commas, and “Lets discuss both in detail have a look on” interrupts the argument rather than guiding it naturally. The conclusion also introduces “economic barrier” without clearly linking it back to the earlier discussion of affordability. Use more precise transitions and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “cultural exploration,” “environmental impact,” “domestic tourism sector,” and “international travel.” These choices help communicate the contrast between local and overseas holidays, and some less common expressions are attempted. There are also several inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision, such as “nearby picnic spots” for holiday destinations, “reliable” to describe Islamabad as a destination, and “a distinct and powerful appeal.” Spelling errors such as “tolerat” and “distict” are noticeable, though the intended meaning remains understandable. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas sound more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening and clauses with “because,” “while,” and “which.” Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “in coming future will travel” lacks a clear subject and needs an article, while “Some citizen are” has a plural agreement error. In “Travelling to a foreign country give chance,” the verb should agree with the gerund subject, and “a chance” needs an article. The opening also joins independent clauses with a comma, creating a run-on sentence. Practise checking each sentence for a subject and finite verb, then review articles and punctuation.
