Student answer (Band 6.0)

There has been a rising argument that a greater number of individuals will prefer to go on vacation in their home country rather than travel overseas. I strongly disagree with the notion that people will prefer to stay home than traveling abroad for holidays.

Firstly, majority of poeple travel abroad for the sole aim of a new cultural experience. Television shows which potrays the various culture and lifestyle of certain countries have sparked a keen interest on why people want to visit such countries for vacation. For instance, the indians have a unique culture of meditation linked to their religion. Tourists from several countries may choose to visit India to learn their way of meditation. Therefore, individuals who stay in their home country for vacation may not necessarily have the oppurtunity to explore these lifestyles.

Secondly, i believe alot of individauls fly abroad for vacation to capture new business ideas, as well as how to manage a business and bring them back to their own country. For example, the business of manufacturing products in one's own country instead of importing the abraod have showed greater dominance if managed and developed properly. Morealso usage of emails, goggle drive, and certain mobile applications in business fosters accointability as well as the grwoth of the business, hence why people travel.

In conclusion, i am of the opinion that more people will prefer moving abraod for holidays than staying in their own country for it because of the experiences that comes with visiting a new country. These expericences will then further more exploration to other countries by the same individual

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree that holidays in one’s own country will become more popular, and the conclusion restates this view. Both body paragraphs offer relevant reasons, especially cultural learning and exposure to business practices, with examples such as visiting India to learn about meditation. However, the business paragraph is less clearly connected to the question: the discussion of manufacturing, email and business applications does not explain convincingly why these experiences require an overseas holiday or why they will lead people to travel abroad more. Develop each reason by directly comparing domestic and international holidays and explaining how it supports your prediction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two reason-based body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the relevant points. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, links between claims are occasionally mechanical or unclear: “hence why people travel” does not clearly follow from the discussion of business tools, and the final sentence’s “These experiences” has an uncertain reference. Make the relationship between each example and your main argument explicit, and use pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural experience,” “lifestyle,” “manufacturing” and “accountability,” which helps communicate your main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “sparked a keen interest” and “greater dominance.” However, several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “poeple,” “potrays,” “oppurtunity,” “abraod” and “expericences.” Some combinations are also unnatural or imprecise: “capture new business ideas” and “showed greater dominance” do not express the intended meaning clearly. Check spelling carefully and choose collocations that fit the point, such as “gain business insights” or “become more competitive.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “Television shows which potrays…” and a conditional structure in “if managed and developed properly.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “majority of people” needs a determiner, “the Indians have” has an unnecessary article, and “the experiences that comes” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening also uses the mismatched construction “prefer to stay home than traveling”; use parallel forms, such as “prefer staying at home to travelling.” Review articles, agreement, and parallel structures, and proofread punctuation where sentences run together.
