Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points: recommending a sport (football), explaining how to learn it (joining the local group with a coach), and suggesting you learn together. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the development of your ideas. While the content is relevant and the tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, the brevity prevents you from fully expanding on your points. To improve, ensure you provide more descriptive details about the sport or the logistics of the training to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The email follows a logical structure, moving from the greeting to the recommendation, the explanation, and the final suggestion. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Now' and 'So' to link ideas. However, the paragraphing is insufficient; the entire body of the email is grouped into one block, which makes it harder to read. To reach a higher band, use clear paragraph breaks to separate your introduction, the main body points, and your closing statement. Additionally, try to use a wider variety of linking words to improve the flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'inquired', 'experienced coach', and 'consideration'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'regarding to join' (should be 'regarding joining') and 'school time' (should be 'school days'). The repetition of 'sport' and 'football' also limits your range. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and natural collocations to express your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'you don't get a chance' (should be 'didn't get'), 'your are managing' (should be 'you are'), and 'a near by football playground' (should be 'a nearby football pitch'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency. Proofreading your work for basic mechanical errors will help you achieve a higher score.
