Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: recommending a sport (swimming), explaining how to learn it, and suggesting you both learn it together. The tone is appropriate for an email to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, you mention that the classes are flexible and that the friend is a 'great learner,' but you could have provided more specific details about the local swimming facility or the specific steps involved in joining to make the advice more practical and engaging. Overall, the response is clear and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The email is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' 'Moreover,' and 'Additionally' to connect your ideas. While these are effective, the flow is occasionally a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different points of your email. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the transition between sentences feels more natural rather than relying on a list-like structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, such as 'physique,' 'flexible,' and 'adapt.' However, there are some minor inaccuracies in collocation and word choice, such as 'in pink of your health' (the idiom is 'in the pink of health') and 'this skill is basic needs' (should be 'a basic need'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over idiomatic expressions and singular/plural agreement. Expanding your vocabulary to include more descriptive adjectives would further enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the swimming class which is available in local area' (missing articles), 'timing for classes are' (subject-verb agreement), and 'Your's lovely' (incorrect possessive form). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on article usage (a/the) and subject-verb agreement. Incorporating a wider variety of complex sentence structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, would also help demonstrate better grammatical control.
