Student answer (Band 5.5)

Hello Neetu,

I hope you are doing well. I gave one advice to you for learning new sport.

This sport is very suitable for u to learn because u play this sport then you also feel relax and enjoy all the with their friends. The name of this sport is football. It's my future sport and I also learn the rule's about this sport.

You can easily learn this sport with the help of mobile phone because today's time we all use phone to much and use different applications. So I also download one sport related app. So I suggest to u download this app then u can easily learn rules.

I suggest to u we both learn this sport together because I am not learn all rules and don't not about more about this sport. So we go in the ground together and play this sport.

I hope you are going with me and play this sport.

Bye take care

Thank you

Regards,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all three bullet points: recommending a sport (football), explaining how to learn it (via an app), and suggesting learning together. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. The explanation of how to learn via an app is repetitive and lacks detail, and the suggestion to learn together is somewhat unclear due to grammatical issues. The tone is appropriate for an email to a friend, but the overall content is underdeveloped, preventing it from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your ideas with more specific details or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The email is organized into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. For example, the repeated use of 'So' to start sentences makes the flow feel simplistic. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some transitions between ideas are abrupt. To improve, try using a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your sentences and ideas more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'sport', 'learn', and 'play'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'I gave one advice to you' (should be 'I have some advice for you') and 'use phone to much' (should be 'use our phones too much'). The range of vocabulary is just adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher score. Focus on learning common collocations and using more descriptive adjectives and verbs.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('I am not learn'), incorrect verb forms ('I also download'), and punctuation errors (e.g., 'rule's'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical forms. Proofreading your work for these common errors would significantly improve your score.
