Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: recommending a sport, explaining how to learn it, and suggesting you learn it together. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. For instance, you mention learning via a phone, but you do not specify which sport you are recommending, which makes the advice vague. To improve, you should provide more specific details about the sport and the learning process. The tone is appropriate for an informal email to a friend, but the lack of specific content prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The email is organised into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures and basic transitions like 'Then' and 'So'. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some sentences feel disjointed. To improve, try using a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your ideas more fluidly and improve the overall flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'play a one sport' and 'do not face any kind of problem' are unnatural and indicate a limited range of expression. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'I am send a message' instead of 'I am sending'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in collocation and word form restrict the score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more descriptive adjectives and idiomatic expressions would significantly enhance your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('I am send', 'everyone easily learn') and preposition errors ('play a good in this sport'). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. When you do attempt more complex ideas, the grammar often breaks down, which can occasionally cause confusion for the reader. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and increasing your accuracy with verb tenses and prepositions.
