Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: recommending a sport (badminton), explaining how to learn it (joining a school), and suggesting you learn together. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention a specific school, the explanation of how to learn the sport could be more detailed, such as mentioning training sessions or coaching. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a friend, although the closing 'Yours faithfully' is typically reserved for formal letters where the recipient's name is unknown. For a friend, 'Best wishes' or 'Warmly' would be more suitable.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'So', which provide a basic structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'we both of them take admissions'. The use of referencing is also a bit unclear in places, particularly in the final paragraph where the connection between your friend's job and your suggestion to join the school could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words would help the text feel more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'badminton', 'match', and 'admissions'. However, there are several instances of unnatural word choice and collocation errors, such as 'available in the market' (when referring to a school) and 'doing job their' (should be 'working there'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing like 'in the market' or 'in this school'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('lots of sports school are available'), incorrect verb forms ('you always play' instead of 'you used to play'), and punctuation errors (spaces before commas). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors like missing articles, incorrect verb tenses, and proper sentence punctuation to improve your accuracy.
