IELTS Writing Task 1 question
Your English-speaking friend who lives in your town has asked for your advice about learning a new sport. Write an email to your friend. In your email:
- recommend a new sport that would be suitable for your friend to learn
- explain how your friend could learn this sport
- suggest that you both learn this sport together

Dear Amit,
It has been a while since we’ve talked. I hope you’re doing well. I just come to know about that you want to learn a new sport, I will be happy to talk about it.
Since we were good at playing baseball during our high school, I think you should try cricket. Same like baseball, cricket is a team sport and there are total of eleven players in each team. Also, the rules are easy to learn and with some practice you’ll be able to play in the ground.
Similarly, there are a couple of academies in our town who teaches cricket, I heard from my college friends that they both have professional coaches, updated equipments and flexible timings. Also, at first if you don’t want to buy new cricket kit, you could a get rental one instead.
I am assuming if you want to try a new activity, then you will have some spare time. I was thinking to join you in the initiative, I also have free time and want to have some fun. Although, I’ve played it before, I want to improve my skills. As well as, we will spend some time together and refresh our school memories.
