You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear ....................................,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Mayank,

I hope you are doing well, I heard that you are interested in acquiring a new sport skill and finding suitable spot which can provide training.

I am very excited that finally you made decision on learning a new sport. Firstly, I think it is a great time of the year to enroll at a sports academy as it is summer season. I genuinely feel that you will admire and like the cricket. Moreover, it involves a team effort, lots of physical stamina as well as hand eye co-ordination which you are already experience with as you play the Baseball. I have started practicing it on daily basis from the last year. You just need to enroll it and have to keep on attending the Net sessions and eventually you will be pro at this game.

The most important thing is my academy is accepting new enrollments right now. Either you checkout website online or come in person for online registration visit the 'Kumble academy'.

Yours Sincerely

Deep Ukani

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You recommended cricket, explained how to learn it by attending net sessions at an academy, and suggested learning it together. The tone is appropriate for an email to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how to learn the sport is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific details about the training process or the benefits of the academy to fully develop your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The email is logically organized with a clear opening and closing. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'The most important thing', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be improved to better separate the distinct points of your advice. The flow between sentences is generally clear, though some phrasing, such as the transition into the registration details, could be smoother to enhance the overall readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'enroll', 'stamina', and 'co-ordination'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'acquiring a new sport skill' (instead of 'learning a new sport') and 'you are already experience with' (should be 'experienced with'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I heard that you are interested in acquiring a new sport skill and finding suitable spot' (missing article 'a'), 'you made decision' (missing article 'a'), and 'practicing it on daily basis' (missing article 'a'). Additionally, 'you will be pro at this game' is slightly informal and grammatically incomplete. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message.
