Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: recommending a sport (cricket), explaining how to learn it (joining the academy), and suggesting learning it together. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation regarding the professional coaches is good, but the anecdote about the cricketer Raman is slightly tangential and distracts from the core purpose of the email. To improve, ensure that every sentence directly supports your advice or the logistics of learning the sport together, rather than including extraneous details about specific match records.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The email follows a logical progression, moving from the greeting to the recommendation and finally the proposal to join together. However, the paragraphing is non-existent, which makes the text feel like a single block of information. Using clear paragraph breaks between the introduction, the body points, and the closing would significantly improve the readability. Additionally, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical or missing; for example, the transition between the recommendation and the anecdote about Raman is abrupt. Using linking words like 'Furthermore' or 'In addition' would help connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are several spelling errors ('sence' for 'since', 'proffesonal' for 'professional', 'begginer' for 'beginner', 'cricekter' for 'cricketer') and word-choice issues ('fitnees-frick' instead of 'fitness freak'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on accuracy in spelling and using more natural collocations. While you attempted some descriptive language, the overall control of vocabulary is limited by these persistent errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

Your writing shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the flow. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Cricket have basic rules'), missing articles ('I saw new academy'), and awkward phrasing ('you are think of starting journey'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors means that the text does not consistently demonstrate error-free complex sentences. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your score.
