Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points of the task. You recommend running, explain how to join the club, and suggest learning together. The tone is appropriate for an email to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of how to learn the sport is a bit repetitive and lacks clarity regarding the 'competition' aspect. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are more detailed and logically connected to the reader's needs. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of the content could be improved to provide a more engaging and helpful response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The email is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Therefore', and 'Afterwards'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as starting a sentence with 'Afterwards' to transition to a suggestion about joining the team. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack smooth flow, such as 'Since, childhood, you are curious for racing, by which, it is a time to polish your skill by practice.' Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the text flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'membership club', 'competition', and 'polish your skill'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'replying you back' (should be 'replying to your letter') and 'it motives you' (should be 'it motivates you'). There is also a spelling error with 'schudle'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word forms are correct. The range is sufficient for the task but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with punctuation, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, 'I am writing a letter to replying you back' is grammatically incorrect, and the comma usage is often intrusive, such as 'Since, childhood, you are curious'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
