Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response touches upon the main requirements of the task, such as recommending cricket and briefly mentioning how to learn it through local matches or online videos, along with a suggestion to learn together. However, the development of these ideas remains limited and somewhat tangential. For instance, the opening sentences wander into a long personal preamble about childhood memories and online gaming rather than focusing directly on the prompt. The explanation of how your friend could learn the sport is basic and repetitive, lacking specific, well-developed details that fully address all parts of the task in depth.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation in the text, as it attempts to follow the structure of a friendly email with an opening and body paragraphs. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the flow is frequently disrupted by long, run-on sentences like 'The purpose of writing this email that you want to me give a advice related to learning a new sport so you are my childhood friend...'. Cohesive devices are basic and often inaccurate or misused, such as repetitive use of conjunctions like 'so' and 'and', making the transitions between ideas mechanical rather than natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary and sports-related terms, but these are marred by word-choice and word-form errors, such as 'online gamming', 'soocer', 'bowling action', and 'match session'. Spelling errors and incorrect collocation, such as 'advice related to learning' and 'make you parent proud', indicate a lack of precision, though the overall meaning can still be deciphered with some effort.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or faulty complex structures linked improperly. Frequent errors are present throughout the response, including issues with verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'that you want to me give a advice', 'cricket need a running stamina', and 'practice make men perfect'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capitalisation on proper nouns and sentences running together without correct terminal punctuation, causing frequent difficulties for the reader.
