Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response partially addresses all parts of the task, meeting the basic requirements by recommending a sport center, mentioning ways to learn, and suggesting learning together. However, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed. For instance, the recommendation is vague, referring generally to 'new physicle activities like sports' rather than naming a specific sport as requested by the prompt. Similarly, the explanation of how to learn relies on generic references to 'new machinery like wait lifting racing' without clear elaboration. The position and purpose of the email are generally clear, but the lack of detailed extension for each bullet point keeps the task response at this level. To improve, you should select a distinct sport, provide specific details on how it is learned, and expand on why you want to study it together.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The letter displays some basic organization, beginning with a standard salutation and attempting a logical flow from introducing the sport center to learning methods and joining together. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the arrangement feels somewhat disjointed due to a lack of appropriate cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, such as jumping from gym equipment to traveling together with 'We have other benifit'. Paragraphing is also problematic, as the entire body of the email is clustered into a single, dense block of text rather than being broken into logical paragraphs for different points. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the connections between ideas. To achieve a higher band, use clear paragraph breaks for each main prompt point and employ a wider range of appropriate linking words to guide the reader smoothly through your arguments.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with a restricted range that frequently repeats basic terms like 'sport center', 'sport', and 'learn'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that can cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'physicle' instead of physical, 'benefical' instead of beneficial, 'mently' instead of mentally, and 'wait lifting' instead of weightlifting. Additionally, phrasing like 'design fully equipment' demonstrates awkward collocation. These lexical inaccuracies prevent the communication from being entirely smooth. To improve, you should expand your vocabulary to include less common terms related to fitness and leisure, pay closer attention to spelling and word forms, and learn standard collocations for describing gym activities and facilities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing uses a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'we both take class' instead of are taking classes, 'sport are very benefical' instead of sports are very beneficial, and 'this institute are design' instead of this institute is designed. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also show frequent issues, including comma splices like 'I hope you are doing well,I am very happy' and strange spacing around punctuation marks. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader in parsing the exact meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and using accurate tense forms and punctuation consistently throughout your writing.
