Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three points clearly: you recommend basketball, explain that your friend could start with a beginner-friendly coach and practise, and invite them to learn with you. The advice is relevant and your position remains clear throughout. You also give some support, such as noting that a nearby sports centre has facilities and that practising together would be convenient. To make the ideas more fully developed, give a specific practical detail—for example, the centre’s class schedule or how you could arrange your first session. The claim that basketball suits your friend because of “girl’s wil-power” is unclear and over-generalised; replace it with a reason based on your friend’s interests or circumstances. The email format and friendly purpose are appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The email has a clear overall progression: recommendation and benefits, ways to learn, the suggestion that you join in, and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Along with that,” and “However” show an effort to connect ideas. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement, while some features of stronger cohesion are present. However, several transitions feel mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately; “However” introduces an additional benefit rather than a contrast. Punctuation and spacing around connectors also interrupt the flow. Use fewer, more precise transitions and connect related points directly, especially in the coaching paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the recommendation and learning advice, including “beginner-friendly coach,” “basic tips,” and “professional coach.” There are also attempts at more formal or varied wording, such as “fruitful” and “acquire.” However, several choices are unnatural or unclear in context: “fruitful sport,” “great accompany,” and “girl’s wil-power” do not express your meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “strrenghten,” “leraning,” “avaible,” and “neraby” are noticeable, and some phrases repeat “learning” or “sport.” These issues make the reader pause, although the main message remains understandable. Prefer familiar, accurate collocations and check spelling carefully before sending the email.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally understand your advice. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer constructions. For example, “When you will become aware about basics, then you can pursue with professional coach” has problems with the time clause, article use, and sentence pattern; “you should continuing practice” also uses the wrong verb form after “should.” There are further issues with sentence boundaries and capitalization, as in “To begin with the benefits of learning basketball game . firstly”. These errors recur and sometimes make the intended relationship harder to follow. Practise forming accurate sentences with modal verbs and time clauses, and proofread for articles, punctuation, and complete sentence structure.
