Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you recommend badminton, explain that your friend can learn at a local club with a trainer, and invite them to join you. The personal details—your previous classes and the discount for two students—make the advice relevant and give the invitation a clear purpose. Your recommendation is supported by reasons such as the sport being accessible to different ages and not requiring extreme fitness. Some claims are broad, however, and the learning advice could be more fully developed: for example, mention how to contact the club, what equipment is needed, or when classes take place. Overall, the email fulfils the task and sustains a clear purpose, with some scope to make its supporting details more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The email has a clear overall progression: you introduce the reason for writing, describe the sport, explain where to learn it, and close with an invitation and friendly sign-off. Paragraphing helps separate these functions, and links such as “First of all,” “As a result,” and “Finally” guide the reader. This is a coherent arrangement, though some transitions feel mechanical, and the final discount point repeats the invitation already made in the previous paragraph. A few references are also unclear, particularly “the sessions was over the moon,” which makes it difficult to tell exactly what you mean about your classes. To strengthen cohesion, use fewer formulaic connectors and make links between ideas more natural and precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic and purpose, including “hand-eye coordination,” “stress-buster,” “trainer,” and “affordable prices.” These choices help communicate why badminton might suit your friend and how they could learn it. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable throughout, including “badmiton,” “reaseach,” “scoop,” and “fitnees,” and some phrases are unnatural, such as “famous and unique game in the country” and “join with me.” These inaccuracies sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; a smaller set of well-controlled expressions will be more effective than unusual wording used imprecisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and “as,” and the overall message remains understandable. However, errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “last sunday you asking” needs a past-tense form, while “The trainer are” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence “Last year, i started my classes over their about and its the sessions was over the moon” contains several grammatical problems that obscure the intended meaning. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “How are you? . i am writing.” Practise forming accurate past-tense sentences and checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb before adding more complex clauses.
