Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Aman,
I hope you'r doing well. I think the most suitable sport for you would be Vollyball. You were showing interest in vollyball since our childhood. I recommend you to do that and there is large vollyball ground in our city, where we can play.
It would be cup of tea to learn this spot because there is group of best players in the city. They play this sport everyday during evening times. They all are very friendly and it's best oppertunity for you to learn.
Moreover, in coming weeks, I'm free from my work for a while. So it would be good to learn together and refresh our old memmories. This sport is good for both physical and mental health to calm our body and relife from work load.
I would like to hear from you and would like to see you soon. Take care.
Best regards
Prabhjot

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points in the task: you recommend volleyball, explain that your friend could learn by joining local players, and invite Aman to learn with you. The personal detail that he showed interest in the sport “since our childhood” makes the recommendation relevant, while your availability in the coming weeks supports the invitation. The explanation of how to learn is present but less fully developed: you mention a group of players and an evening practice time, but could clarify whether they offer beginner guidance or how Aman can join. The health benefits are relevant, though they take space that could be used to make the learning plan more specific. Overall, the purpose and friendly tone are clear, with some ideas needing further development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The email has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with a personal greeting and recommendation, moves to how the sport can be learned, and then makes a joint invitation before closing. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “So” guide the reader through the message. The progression is generally easy to follow, although some links feel mechanical, and “Moreover” does not create a particularly strong connection between the learning details and your availability. The final paragraph combines learning together, shared memories, and health benefits, so its focus becomes slightly diffuse. Clearer transitions and a more focused paragraph structure would make the cohesion more flexible and natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main message, and phrases such as “showing interest,” “friendly,” and “physical and mental health” suit the topic. However, the range is limited, and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “Vollyball” and “vollyball” should be “volleyball,” “oppertunity” should be “opportunity,” and “relife” should be “relief.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “do that,” “cup of tea,” and “refresh our old memories.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your intention, but they make the email less fluent and precise. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully, especially for key topic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, including “They play this sport everyday during evening times” and “So it would be good to learn together and refresh our old memories.” The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “You were showing interest … since our childhood” uses an unsuitable tense with “since”; “there is group” needs an article; and “I recommend you to do that” has an incorrect verb pattern. There are also issues with sentence punctuation and phrasing, such as the comma before “where” joining closely related information. Practise present perfect forms with “since,” article use, and verb patterns such as “recommend that you try.”
