Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 8.0

You address all three requirements clearly: you recommend basketball, explain that Roy can begin with an app and then attend a local academy, and invite him to join you. The practical details about the venue, cost, equipment, and class times make the advice useful, while “if we both join together” makes the shared-learning suggestion explicit. The response is well developed for this informal email and stays focused on the task. To make the advice even more complete, briefly explain why basketball suits Roy beyond his height and fitness, or add a personal reason you would enjoy learning it together. Overall, the key ideas are clear and supported with relevant details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The email has a clear progression: a friendly opening, a recommendation with reasons, practical learning arrangements, and a closing invitation. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Secondly” and “Once” guide the reader through the advice. The sequence from learning the rules to practising at the academy is especially easy to follow. Some connections are less smooth: “This will help you to fell relax…” shifts abruptly from the greeting, and the final paragraph repeats the idea of joining together without developing it further. Use transitions that connect each point more naturally, and make references such as “all these” more precise. The overall organisation remains clear, though cohesion is not consistently polished.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the recommendation and practical arrangements, including “physical,” “rules,” “rental,” and “instructor.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “intrest,” “fimilar,” “acdemy,” and “bach” obscure otherwise straightforward ideas. Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “sport activity,” “fell relax,” and “physical moment.” These issues show that the vocabulary is not yet consistently controlled, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable from context. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, especially when describing exercise, suitability, and training arrangements.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, and the reader can generally understand the message. However, errors occur frequently in sentence structure and grammatical forms. For example, “I would suggest you to start learning basketball” needs a different verb pattern, while “this is optimal for you as your a fit and tall” has an incomplete construction and an incorrect possessive form. In “there a app called…,” the verb and article are missing or incorrect, and “the montly cost is $49, where we will be trained” uses an unclear relative clause. These recurring problems sometimes make sentences difficult to process. Practise accurate verb patterns, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
